It specializes in worldwide meetings and incentives, offshore estate purchase and sale promotion, international travel management and booking among wide travel services. In recent years, Bearclaw Travel Management has been focusing on the corporate branch of travel management and in a minor scale the company still booking particular, and leisure travel management.
Bearclaw Travel engaged a process of expansion
Providing a wide variety of travel services, Bearclaw Travel Services has engaged a process of expansion to include meetings, incentives, and courier services as a regular.
Founded in 1987 by Douglas Bowen Bearclaw Travel Services, LTD has always been characterized for standing customer's needs and for providing all-around coverage for trips.
Since the early days, that has been the company’s spirit.
The first days were surrounded by the sheer need of growth; extra hours, low income, hardworking, relentless competition and, as usual, undaunted dreams of a small business and a big ambition, to get a name by ourselves within the travel market and public preferences.
It is not an uncommon place to be when starting a company, the past years may have been proof of the commitment and truth of our values.
We have done the extraordinary and manage the simple on a daily basis.
That is our trademark and our single goal: to be the largest west coast travel agency and to become a world reference in the industry.
In order to do that, we take our unremitting commitment of constantly training ourselves and to research the innovations and the side spots for traveling.
It hasn't always been an easy task, during all these years the company has suffered both sides of the spectrum. Deception has surrounded Bearclaw’s path at sometimes, especially during the latest economic crisis ravaging our country and the world. Yet we managed to stay in operations and to satisfy our customers.
Growing and restructuration of Bearclaw Travel Services
Since 2011 after a prolonged struggle in the market, we were forced to restructure a company endangered of being left behind. The process almost led us to bankruptcy and to uncompetitiveness, and although it was a tremendous loss of experienced personnel and valuable opportunities the lessons given back by adversity had made us grow and strengthen us.
By that time, we gladly received the incorporation of Matthew Krause Jr., a partner that would later become the CEO of Bearclaw. Since 2012 Mr. Krause gave us a desirable refresh. During his novice time with us, he managed to overcome the inevitable crisis and to build the basis of today’s good standing for Bearclaw Travel Services, LTD. The synergy generated from getting the untold experience for the youth has shown its results; every day since the “BC Bring the future” program was implemented, the new talent and the new perspective of youth teaming up with our more experienced members, has brought the consequence of productivity, actualization, and efficiency.

We are now closer to become the company Douglas Bowen dreamed about.
In 2018 the official announcement of Matthew Krause Jr as operative and administrative CEO in Bearclaw was, (and still is) the culmination of a six and a half years of constantly improving and working. As mentioned before, at the Annual Board committee in 2016, Mr. Krause has become the impersonation of Bearclaw Travel values:
“When I arrived at Bearclaw four years ago, I found a company that didn't believe in its own potential, I found a company struggling with the present and totally unaware about its past. My first glance was that of a local company wanting to overcome its status; a small travel agency with high expectations and no means to get there. Hell, I thought in those days, they wanted to arrange meetings all over the world, they wanted private coordinate transportation by sea, air, and land and they didn't even have a proper coffee machine.
Yet the success of these four years has demonstrated me the power of compromise. At this point I may have a confession to make, I couldn't see the true potential of Bearclaw until the people surrounding me approach me full of ideas, recommendations; vigorous and willing to do what it is needed to be done to achieve something. They were, and are to this date, the true saviors of the company. My debt to them is therefore to protect and to demonstrate the same spirit that made them come, the same spirit that made them explain to me what this company was all about. To them is this honor. I would like to say that by speaking at this forum I could be capable of performing the excellence they achieve and at the quality they deserve but, as my friend, James always says ‘let’em do it better’.”

A strong team, a proper leadership…
As mentioned before, BC it’s now acquiring a name to be remembered in the industry. All the effort put together to rescue and making the most of new points of view ended in today’s scouting program, a stand-alone amongst travel agencies, a very resourceful chain of contacts, deals, service providers and carefully trained personnel. The numbers are behind them: 2234 successful meetings arranged internationally, more than 3000 travels booked, 250 meetings, events, congresses and deals, and growing.
